Dr Julia Anwar McHenry

Julia McHenry

Dr Julia Anwar McHenry is a Research Fellow with the School of Psychology and Speech Pathology. Julia was previously a Research Associate with the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer Control where she contributed to research and evaluation of Mentally Healthy WA's Act-Belong-Commit campaign and worked with Professor Rob Donovan on the development of the Perth Charter for the Promotion of Mental Health and Wellbeing, among other health promotion advocacy and research projects. Julia has worked on a number of diverse research projects including comparing wellbeing outcomes of participants and spectators at sports and arts events in Perth, Aboriginal housing shortage in the City of Geraldton, and documenting the livelihoods, culture, and health of the Indigenous Aeta Magbukun of Bataan, Philippines. She holds a PhD in Geography (The University of Western Australia) on the arts and social wellbeing of rural communities in the Mid West region of Western Australia and undergraduate degrees in Arts Management (Edith Cowan University) and Psychology (Murdoch University).
